Web Sites
San Jose Victorian is a site dedicated to the history and current restoration of an 1893 Victorian house by its current owners.
Originally set up as a frame-based site with a guestbook, it sat unattended for years while its guestbook became loaded with spam.
The new site now validates as XHTML strict, utilizes PHP includes for the header, footer, and home page counter. Additionally, it features a custom PHP-based guestbook that includes a "CAPTCHA" field for added security.
Rejuvenate Training is a Santa Cruz-based company that is focused on helping holistic practitioners use Heartselling™ instead of Hard Selling to grow their businesses while avoiding becoming corporate salespersons.
The look of this page was part of a major redesign for Rejuvenate Training's web pages and I worked closely with the marketing department and owners of the company to match their web pages with their newly re-designed print materials and new logo and color scheme.
Radiance Health Solutions had a rather low-key website and wanted to make something a bit more active and fun.
One of the primary items was to embed an introductory video on the main page to make the site a bit more lively. The video was skinned with Flash to create the controls and resize the source video. There are some testimonial videos that are to be added to the website in the future
Another aspect of the site redesign was to create a series of drop-down menus to account for the rather large number of web pages and organize them in a logical manner. There are one- and two-level menus for some of the pages and every page is accessible from anywhere on the site.
Ultimate Potential is a South Bay company dedicated to helping people of all abilities get in the best physical shape of their lives through regular outdoor activities.
The main color scheme of the site uses greens and browns to underscore the "outdoor" aim of Ultimate Potential. In addition to several embedded videos, the site also utilized PHP form processors to obtain information from potential clients.
The site has a large number of pages and uses a combination of simple tabs for the main navigation bar, plus breadcrumb navigation and flyout menus for different sub page navigation.
Starting Over Without Him is a company dedicated to helping women who are going through a divorce or breakup.
The website originally was set up as a simple sales letter page, using elements that had been on a previously set up website. Eventually, a WordPress blog was added to the site as well, and is used to provide additional resources to clients
This is another project where I was brought in by Big Fish Small Pond to work on the main navigation structure for this website. In this case (the client not wanting to lose search engine rankings) used SSL includes so the name of the web pages didn't change.
Huntress Associates is an east coast company that specialized in game field, sports facilities, and arena construction projects for schools and cities.
I was brought into this project as a subcontractor by Bob von Elgg of Big Fish Small Pond to improve the user interface and was specifically asked to use a server side technology, making a common header for the whole website, to make future site maintenance easier and improve the speed the site loads in web browsers.
